Flannel is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to tell the way of Jesus in new and creative ways. Flannel is an independent organization not affiliated with any specific church or denomination.
Flannel's vision is to be a catalyst for highly creative people who share our desire to communicate the way of Jesus to the world. To date, we do this through NOOMA and BASIC. NOOMA is a series of 24 films that explores various issues from a perspective of Jesus. BASIC is a seven-part series featuring the teaching of Francis Chan that explores church as it is described in Scripture.
Flannel's third series will be released in February 2011 and is called Ed's Story. Ed's Story shares the life of pastor and author Ed Dobson and discusses what Ed has learned since being diagnosed with ALS. Ed's Story is raw, honest, and offers hope even in the midst of suffering.
The name NOOMA is an English phonetic spelling of the Greek word pneuma, which is commonly translated into “spirit” or “breath”. Pneumatology refers to the study of spiritual beings, particularly the interactions between humans and God.
Flannel is an independent nonprofit ministry with no affiliations to any church, denomination, religious organization, or religious movement. We have a statement of doctrine that you can read by clicking here.
Flannel's films could not be made without the generosity of our donors. The latest news about upcoming Flannel films can be found on the site we’ve prepared especially for them at support.flannel.org.
At present, there are several BASIC films and Ed's Story films in production. In addition we have two new series in development. Information about upcoming films can be found at flannel.org, basicseries.com, and edsstory.com. If you are interested providing financial support to any of our new projects, please do not hesitate to call Deb at 616 222-0075 for additional information.
Our films are available for presale about one month prior to release on the Flannel Store.
We are working to expand the Flannel portfolio with new speakers.
If you pay for shipping on your order from the Flannel Store, we offer a variety of options from the United Parcel Service (UPS). Free shipping options on the Flannel Store ship via the U.S. Postal Service.
All shipping and handling charges will be listed clearly within the order process. Orders are processed within 24 hours (orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will ship the following Monday). All orders placed before 11:30 am EST will ship the same day.
NOOMA DVDs are encoded to play in all regions of the world. However, they are NTSC DVDs, which refers to the signaling format used to transmit video to television in the United States. Still, they should play on over 95% of DVD systems worldwide without any problems.
If you have difficulty getting a NOOMA to play, please contact us at customerservice@flannel.org for assistance.
When you purchase "view now" for one of our films, what you're buying is not a download but rather a streaming connection to a particular Flannel film. The ticket codes you purchase on the Flannel Store with the "view now" option are each good for one viewing of one film, and your ticket expires after you've viewed 5 minutes or more of a given film. You need to be connected to the Internet to redeem your "view now" ticket to the Flannel Player. Please click here to learn more about system requirements for "view now" films and the Flannel Player.
While we appreciate your interest in NOOMA, we don't currently accept any outside concepts or ideas.
We do not have any open positions at this time. If you'd like to submit your resume, we will keep your information on file should a position become available at some future date. Resumes may be sent via electronic mail to HR@flannel.org.
We use a variety of cameras, both film (16mm or 35mm) and digital (RED). Our goal is always to create the best visual experience we can. Whichever camera allows us to do this is the camera we use.
A discount is always available for customers who purchase all NOOMA DVDs and for customers who purchase 50 or more of the same DVD. Larger order and complete set discounts are automatically applied during checkout at the Flannel Store.
NOOMA films are available in DVD format as well as in an online streaming video format using the Adobe Flash player. We’re constantly investigating new formats to improve your viewing experience with NOOMA films.
NOOMA films are also available as iPhone Apps in the App Store. Click the icon below to get the Apps.

We're a small nonprofit ministry, which means your donations are tax deductible. Just like you, we want to do things for the right reasons. If you like what we're doing, we could use your support in making the next NOOMA film. Your donation supports both the business and creative efforts that help Flannel achieve its vision.
Unfortunately we're not able to provide dialogue transcripts or lyrics from songs used in any of the NOOMA films.
We work with different bands and individual artists for the music that's used in the NOOMA films. If you want more specific information you should check out the Music section of the Flannel Store.
Prerelease items will not ship until their release date. If your order contains a mix of prerelease and in stock items, only the items that are in stock will ship within 24 hours.
